HelpAge International is partnering with three institutions in Myanmar and Thailand in order to ‘strengthen the University of Public Health and wider health stakeholders to support evidence-based policies and improved health services, in preparation for the transition towards NCDs in Myanmar’.
The four project partners are:
- HelpAge International (headquarters in London UK, with country office in Yangon, Myanmar)
- University of Public Health (located in Yangon, Myanmar)
- University of Medicine 2 (located in Yangon, Myanmar)
- Thammasat University, Faculty of Public Health (located near Bangkok, Thailand)
The project works closely with the NCD Unit of the Department of Public Health, Ministry of Health and Sports, Government of the Union of Myanmar. The project also fosters collaboration with a range of other health and non-health stakeholders recognizing that an approach that includes the whole of Myanmar society is needed to prevent and control NCDs.
